Ceiling Fan Replacement — What’s Included & How We Do It

Overview

A properly installed ceiling fan delivers quieter airflow, better comfort, and improved energy efficiency. Our replacement service covers safe removal of the old fixture, secure mounting to a UL fan-rated box, correct wiring, careful balancing, and full function testing so your new fan runs smoothly from day one.

What We Replace or Upgrade

We remove the existing fan or light fixture, confirm or upgrade the junction box to a fan-rated model, set the correct downrod or flush mount for your ceiling height and slope, complete all wiring connections for the fan, light kit, and any remote module, verify wall controls for compatibility, and balance the blades to eliminate wobble.

Compatible Fan Types

We install low-profile flush fans for lower ceilings, standard downrod fans for typical rooms, extended downrod fans for tall or vaulted spaces with slope adapters when required, and models with integrated LED light kits, remotes, or smart controls.

Our Process

We begin with site preparation and safety checks, protecting the work area and verifying the circuit is off. Next, we remove the existing fixture and inspect the wiring and junction box. If the box isn’t fan-rated, we replace it and anchor it to framing to meet code. We then fit the manufacturer’s bracket, hardware, and safety cable, complete the wiring and control setup, assemble the fan and light kit, and balance the blades for smooth operation. Finally, we test every speed, the direction switch, the lighting functions, and any remote or app pairing, and we clean the area before we leave.

When Replacement Makes Sense

Replacement is the best choice when balancing never resolves wobble or noise, when the motor or housing is damaged, when the mounting point isn’t fan-rated or feels insecure, or when you want modern features such as smart controls, higher airflow, reversible operation, and efficient LED lighting. It also makes sense for dated models that no longer move enough air or match your space.

Options and Add-Ons

You can choose handheld or wall remotes and smart controls, LED light kits with dimming, seasonal direction setup for summer and winter, extended downrods for high ceilings, and coordinated multi-room installations scheduled together for efficiency.

What We Provide vs. What You Provide

We supply the labor, standard mounting hardware, and a fan-rated box when an upgrade is required. You provide the new ceiling fan and any accessories such as a light kit, remote, or downrod, unless you’d like us to source them for you.

Safety and Code Notes

Every fan is mounted to a UL-listed, fan-rated box that is mechanically secured to framing. Wall dimmers controlling lights must be rated for the fixture and for LED loads, and a standard light dimmer must never be used on a fan motor. If wiring conditions are unusual or additional circuits are needed, we’ll advise you on the safest, code-compliant approach.

Preparation Checklist for Fast Scheduling

Clear the area beneath the installation, have the new fan and accessories on-site, and confirm ceiling height and slope so we arrive with the right hardware.

Benefits You’ll Notice

After replacement, you can expect quieter operation with minimal wobble, better airflow and comfort due to correct mounting height and downrod selection, improved energy efficiency from modern motors and LED lighting, and a clean, finished look at the ceiling with neat wiring and a secure canopy.
